We do love sun. We do love to feel it's warm touch. But we shouldn't forget that our skin is very fragile. We still can enjoy the sun and feel it's touch under the cover of sun screen without endangering our skin to cancer, dehydration, discoloration, loss of collagen.
Sunscreen should be applied 20 to 30 minutes before going outdoors (even on a cloudy days) so it has a chance to bond with our skin; and should be reapplied every 2-3 hours, or after swimming, towel drying or perspiring. Sunlight contains three types of ultraviolet rays: UVA, UVB, and UVC. UVC rays are the most dangerous, but fortunately, these rays are blocked by the ozone layer and don't reach the earth. UVB rays affect the epidermis, the outermost layer of skin. UVA rays penetrate to the dermis and alter skin fibers, remove moisture, elasticity and can enhance the cancer-causing potential of UVB rays.  Using sun protection will help prevent skin damage, wrinkles and reduce the risk of cancer.
