We all desire it and we know the basics of creating a flawless complexion is: eating healthy foods, drinking enough water, protecting our skin from the sun, and following our skin care routine. So, if there’s one thing we all desire, it’s having perfect skin.
I haven't met a person yet, who says: "I have perfect skin”
It’s true, during over twenty years of practicing as a Board Certified Licensed Skin Care Specialist, I never have met someone who said that.
I’ve met people who say that "their skin is OK". Usually, they immediately look at the mirror and touch their skin as they are making sure that their skin is here and exists. Seems like they forgot about it.
This is, I think, a category of people who didn’t have problems with their skin like teen-acne, or excessive oiliness, or discoloration. And they weren’t among people who are talking about skin care as one of the important subjects in life.
Another category is a collection of people who know exactly what they don’t like about their skin and truly believe that they don’t have good skin and they usually know someone who, in their opinion, has perfect skin.
The third category are “happy campers”. Those are people who have a “problem” with their skin and they are working on it. They are seeing the results of their commitment and seeing improvements. Those improvements are a natural stimulation to continue being attentive, listening to their skin’s needs and never giving up daily skincare.
Maybe I haven’t met those people who say that they have perfect skin, because I am a skin care specialist. But, I have to say, and trust me, it is not just a cliched phrase: every skin is unique and perfect!
Everyone’s skin has it’s own personality. It is living, performing its duties, surviving and having good and bad days, even when no one pays close attention. I truly believe, Mother Nature gave us all perfect skin.
We just need to pay attention to our skin, to our body, to our health. Let's start with the most simplest step to send the skin on it's way to perfection - basic skincare routine.
